Mentality Check-In Vol 12

MENTALITY CHECK-IN VOL. 11
❤️ Mental Health Thought of the Week
Love should feel like love.
Not constant confusion.
Not wondering where you stand.
Not feeling like you have to earn someone's attention.
Not shrinking yourself so someone else feels comfortable.
Love can be complicated, but healthy love should still leave room for respect, honesty, safety, communication, and being yourself.
And that applies to every kind of love—not just romantic love.
The love between friends.
The love between family.
The love you give your children.
And perhaps the most important one:
The love you give yourself.
🪞 What Does Loving Yourself Look Like?
Sometimes self-love isn't bubble baths and spa days.
Sometimes it's:
✨ Leaving when something consistently hurts you. ✨ Saying "no" without explaining yourself 20 times. ✨ Getting help when you're struggling. ✨ Forgiving yourself for your past. ✨ Setting boundaries. ✨ Resting without feeling guilty. ✨ Choosing people who choose you back. ✨ Giving yourself another chance.
Three tiny self-love tips
Try these as mini check-ins, not perfection assignments. Your healing does not need a dramatic soundtrack every time.
Name it
Ask: “What am I feeling, and what is it asking for?” Naming the emotion lowers the volume.
Nourish it
Drink water, stretch your jaw, eat something kind, or step outside. Care counts even when it is simple.
Protect it
Let one boundary be enough today. A clear “not right now” is still an act of love.
✍️ Journal Prompt
Ask yourself:
What does love mean to me?
Then ask:
Do the relationships in my life reflect the kind of love I believe I deserve?
Be honest with yourself.
Not judgmental.
Just honest.
💪 This Week's Challenge
Show love to three people this week.
Send the text.
Make the phone call.
Give the compliment.
Tell someone you appreciate them.
And don't forget to include yourself.
Do one thing that makes you feel cared for by you.
🌱 Mentality Moment
You don't have to chase love.
You don't have to beg for attention.
You don't have to convince someone of your worth.
The people who love you won't always get everything right—but healthy relationships make room for communication, accountability, respect, and growth.
And when you learn to love yourself, you begin to recognize the difference between being wanted and being valued.
🌟 Affirmation of the Week
"I deserve love that is honest, healthy, respectful, and mutual. I will not abandon myself to keep someone else."
Read that again.
I will not abandon myself to keep someone else.
A love note for every status
If you're single right now:
You are not incomplete.
If you're healing from heartbreak:
You are not unlovable.
If you're in a relationship:
You are still allowed to have your own identity.
If you're surrounded by people who love you:
Don't forget to tell them.
And if you're learning how to love yourself:
Be patient.
You're worth getting to know.
☕ Before You Go
Love isn't supposed to require you to disappear.
You can love deeply and still have boundaries.
You can care about someone and still choose yourself.
You can miss someone and still move forward.
You can be alone and still be whole.
And you can start learning to give yourself the love you've been waiting for someone else to give you.
